EV Road Trip Planning in India: Charging Stations, Range & Tips

Published

How to plan long-distance electric vehicle drives on Indian expressways without range anxiety.

Driving an Electric Vehicle (EV) across Indian highways is now easier than ever. With fast DC chargers installed every 50-80 km on major routes like Delhi-Jaipur, Mumbai-Pune, and Bangalore-Mysore, range anxiety is becoming a thing of the past.

Essential EV Highway Rules:

1. The 20-80% Charging Rule: Fast DC chargers charge your EV battery rapidly up to 80%. The last 20% takes twice as long. Unplug at 80% to save time and battery health.

2. Download Multi-Network Apps: Install Statiq, Tata Power EZ Charge, Zeon Charging, and Jio-BP Pulse before starting your journey.

3. Plan Secondary Chargers: Always keep a backup charging station identified 30 km before your primary planned stop in case of queue or downtime.
